Contract Weighing
Planeweighs was founded in 1977 to provide a contract weighing service to the aircraft industry. Today, with six weights engineers strategically positioned across the country, it is the longest established and leading aircraft weighing company in the UK having weighed over 10,000 aircraft.
Planeweighs is known by the company it keeps and our regular customers include Virgin Atlantic, BMI, Thomsonfly, Monarch, First Choice, Thomas Cook, Flybe, TNT, SR Technics, Polar and Olympic.
Our comprehensive range of equipment enables us to weigh all types of aircraft from micro-lights to the Boeing B747 and has the ability to weigh the Airbus A380 when it comes into service.
Although we favour the use of roll-on platforms for weighing large aircraft for safety reasons, in certain maintenance scenarios, the use of an aircraft axle jacking system may also be offered up to Boeing B767.
Distance is no object as our weighing operations cover the whole of the UK and Western Europe, Iceland, Scandinavia, Malta and the Seychelles.
For the private flyer we provide a Weighing Report and Weight and Centre of Gravity Schedule with an electronic version available to produce instant accurate weight and balance calculations for any given configuration.
As well as aircraft we have been contracted to weigh industrial containers, cars, vans, lorries, mobile cranes and boats.
